Get Started

This Getting Started guide will provide a quick overview of the bot, it’s features and the information within this documentation.

It’s likely if you don’t know what this is, you shouldn’t be here. BizzTheMemeBot is a private Discord bot built for myself and my friends. It wasn’t really built with large scale operation in mind, and is not likely to ever be made public. There are many Discord bots out there that can achieve similar goals that would be better suited if you’re looking for one.

The bot has a handful of useful features for Discord servers.

Commands

The bot has a variety of built-in Gif commands for use in servers. Any command can also be used with ’!’ instead of ’/’ if the built-in slash command features is not working or permitted in your server.

  • /appreciate [user]: Show appreciation for another user
  • /appreciated: Shows how many times the /appreciate command has been used to show appreciation for BizzTheMemeBot
  • /bonk [user]: Bonk another user
  • /boop [user]: Boops another user
  • /emote [emote]: Supply a custom emote to this command and it will provide the Discord ID of the emote

Live Alerts

The bot allows you to setup live alerts for Twitch streamers in your Discord channels. You can also optionally have the message updated or removed when the stream ends.

The interface for setting up alerts allows easy selection of mentions and shows a Discord preview of the message.

The shoutouts can be sent using custom Discord Webhook URLs to allow for custom usernames and avatars from the bot, which are also represented in the previews.

The webhooks can be setup globally for all alerts, and on a per-alert basis (per-alert overrides global).

Custom Commands

Alongside the built-in commands, the bot also allows you to setup your own custom ’!’ commands.

These have 2 mods, text and custom Javascript scripts for more advanced commands (though if you want access to the JS commands, you need to reach out to me to have them enabled).

Text based commands have built-in support for custom counters that count up per command use and can be displayed within the response message.

Auto Responders

Auto responders all the bot to listen to a specific phrase or keyword within messages in your server and respond with a custom message.

You can set these up to be case sensitive or insensitive, and also to match the whole message or just part of it.

Custom Images

With all the custom Gif commands described above, you are able to upload your own custom Gifs to be used with those commands.

Once the feature is enabled, you have control over all Gifs for these commands. You can upload and remove images at will.
